Hi, there are no alternatives...Tighten very strongly the proper extractor and spreay some WD40 or similare rust remover or lubrificant. Let it rest the whole night and in the morning thighten the extractor some more....proceed like this 2/3 times. If the flywheel is still on the crank.....use some delicate touch of hammer on the front of the flywheel. If you do this on the side, be very careful to don't hurt the pick-up or the small metal part that gives the signal to the pickup during rotation. This should loosen up the deposit between the crank and the flywheel and permitt you to take of the flywheel. DO NOT stick nothing into the holes of the flywheel...this will damage for sure the generator coils inside!!!! Where are you from? |

HiB52fer, What Maurizio said it's absolutely right. Plus, with the extractor tool fitted and tighten on the flywheel and crank, try to hit the extractor tool ( only in the middle, 'course... ) with a medium weight hammer 2/3 times, then tight the central screw and try and try again. Avoid to hit the flyweel in anycase. This is the best way. Regards

As far as I know, this kind of tool isn't only an exclusive genuine Yamaha "part" but it is also a common and commercial part that can be bought in every specialized tool's seller. Few monts ago I didn't know that, so I asked a person who was (an still is) able to build this special parts to built one of this for me. I paid 20 euros for it (or euro??? without "s"???) In any case, welcome on board b52fer , the advices you have been given are correct, that's the right way to proceed to extract the flyweel. Regards .
